Menu Design

Our suggested menus follow a standard pattern: each contains a big-batch, freezer friendly dish, a protein dish, a grain dish, a vegetable dish, and a snack or salad dish. Our menus are also all perfectly crafted to fit within a 3-hour booking.

To get maximum value from The Chef, choose multiple big batch dishes that are freezer friendly - for example, a menu with lasagna, beef bourguignon, tomato soup, and chicken quesadillas can fill up your freezer with quick, delicious meals to enjoy over several months.  Double the portions of stews, soups, and chilis.

High Value Menus

Big batch, freezer friendly meals are key to maximizing value - with the right menu, a single booking can provide most of your dinners and lunches for weeks. You can double or even triple portion sizes on many of these dishes (just make sure you have big enough pots!). Freeze in small, serving-size containers for delicious meals on demand.

Hearty beef stews, like beef bourguignon or cognac & dijon beef, are a favorite - they always feel like a proper meal and can be quickly paired with rice or pasta. Most soups are perfect for batch cooking and freezing, and are great to have on hand during fall and winter. Quiches and enchiladas are also freezer friendly options that provide quick, satisfying meals.

Open up even more options with "prep" dishes that can turn into a tasty meal in a matter of minutes, with only the simplest of efforts from you. Have your chef prep a tasty chicken and veggie quesadilla mix, and freeze in serving-size containers; with tortillas, cheese, salsa, and a skillet, you can enjoy delicious quesadillas in just a few minutes whenever you want. Big batches of sauces, like alfredo or bolognese, mean delicious pasta is always an easy option. Freshly baked cookies? Just pull out the dough your chef made and pop in the oven.
